A tribute to my Inspiration, my Dear Mother
Welcomed to Heaven on December 24, 2009
What an amazing gift for her - to be with Jesus on His Birthday!

My Mother was a woman who not only taught me how to follow my dreams,
she taught me how to love,
how to accept myself and express myself through art.
How to find peace in this world.
Thank you Dear Mama, I miss you and I love you.
My Mother was an award winning fabric artist and making quilts was her favorite medium.
Each stitch was sewn freehand and each quilt a work of art.
She won many ribbons for her work and was honored by one of her quilts
being accepted to the Smithsonian Museum of American History - Folk Art.
After Mom passed, a friend told me of a vision she had of my Mother in Heaven
working on a magnificent quilt made of golden fabric that
shone with a glow being sewn with golden threads -
she said it was so beautiful she could not even come close to describing it.
That image has kept me inspired as I know Mom is happy and healthy - free of pain -
doing what she loves most, making a quilt!
This quilt is fit for the King of Kings - a Birthday gift to Him :O)

My Mother left both my Sister and me a sign that she was at peace when she passed.
At 3:48 a.m. we awoke to the most beautiful noise that sounded like a little bird
though different from any bird we had heard before -
a long swoosh and then a cooing sound like a dove -
It is hard to describe because it was so unique and beautiful.
This noise happened a little after 3:48 a.m. and at 4:00 a.m.
Hospice called and told us that our Mother had passed.
I know some people do not believe in the spiritual world  but I certainly do
and holding on to those beliefs, and dear friends like you,
is what will sustain me until it is time for us to meet again.

May God Bless You and Keep You.
